HYPrime Primer

Hyprime Primer is a low VOC, oxidized asphalt emulsion primer, prepared with select asphalts, penetrating solvents and proprietary emulsifiers. Hyprime primer is an all-purpose primer and is to be used when adhering Hyload Self-adhering membranes to substrates including, but not limited to, fiberglass-faced gypsum sheathing, protection board, and CMU back up walls.

Limitations and Warranty

  • Hyload Hyprime Primer should not be applied when temperatures are below 40°F or when rain is imminent.
  • Keep Hyload Hyprime Primer from freezing.
  • During hot weather, the product should be stored in a cool shaded area.
  • Do not dilute this product.
  • Curing rates will vary depending on the ambient temperature relative humidity, wind speed, sky condition, and the proper rate of application. Generally speaking, Hyload Hyprime Primer will dry within 15 to 30 minutes when applied at 70°F or above. At 50°F, on a cloudy day, cure time may be extended to as much as one hour.
  • Check several places on primed area for dryness prior to proceeding with the flashing application.
